Trainee Transport PlannerTurners (Soham) Ltd is the UK’s largest privately owned Transport Company, we are currently looking to recruit a Trainee Transport Planner, working in our Container Division based in Southampton.This is a great opportunity for somebody to progress their career in the Logistics industry .The main function of the role:• Assist with daily planning and vehicle scheduling• Tracking on the day deliveries ensuring ETAs are communicated to customers and the transport operations team • Updating Transport Management Systems • Communicating with customers, depots, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations• Preparing delivery notes• Briefing drivers clearly and concisely• Assisting with fleet admin tasks• Using Port and Depot IT systems to create vehicle bookings and maintaining prebooked appointments• Supporting with customer service and other basic admin tasksThe ideal candidate should have the following attributes:• GCSEs or equivalent education• Full UK driving licence (advantageous but not essential)• Good communication skills• Organised, detail-focused, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment• Computer literate, MS Office, and the ability to learn company in house IT systems• Team player • Flexible for occasional early starts/late finishes during busy periods• Basic UK geography helpfulThe position is full time, Monday to FridayIn return we will provide you with:- Secure employment- Competitive earnings based on experience- Continuous development and the opportunity for progressionTo apply for this position please email your CV to recruitment@turners-distribution.comWhat happens next?Your application will be sent to the relevant recruiting manager for review.
