Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial van to deliver packages and goods to designated locations according to schedule.
- Plan efficient routes to maximize delivery productivity and reduce travel time.
- Load and unload items with care, often involving heavy lifting in warehouse or delivery environments.
- Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and ensure accurate documentation of all shipments.
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and compliance with traffic laws.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure optimal operation.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with van driving, including navigating urban and rural routes safely.
- Warehouse experience is a plus, especially involving heavy lifting or handling goods.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, safety procedures, and route plans diligently.
