Responsibilities
- Assist with materials handling, including loading, unloading, and moving stock within the warehouse using manual techniques or equipment such as forklifts.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport goods across the facility, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by accurately documenting incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying contents, and ensuring proper storage.
- Prepare orders by picking, packing, and labeling products carefully to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Stock shelves and organize inventory systematically to facilitate easy access and efficient stock management.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on stock items to identify damages or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the warehouse environment by following proper procedures for heavy lifting, load securing, and equipment maintenance.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations with a strong understanding of materials handling techniques.
- Valid forklift certification with demonstrated ability to operate machinery safely in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements and order processing.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation, labeling, and compliance standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomic practices.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for stock accuracy and quality control measures.
